Update Sept 2011

So is been a couple of months, it fees way longer than that. But we are doing good,  you as far as we can see, are doing great and Andrew, well he just in the middle of the action, probably thinking my family is nuts!, lol.

Its been now about two months since we move in with Halmonee, we are still adjusting, I think so far we have been adjusting fairly well taking into consideration we are 10 people in one house and yes, two kids under two included.  Some days are harder than others and at the same time some days are just great and feel truly glad to be all together.

I am working from home now, so I will have more time to write and keep up with our lives. I know at some point when you grow old you will read this and perhaps, there is a small chance, it will bring back memories. That’s the whole point of all this, for you and Andrew to remember.

So…. You are turning 4 next week, Sept 22 and we are throwing a birthday party to you on the 24th, cant wait and you are just so excited about it. I let you chose your theme and you wanted MONSTERS so monsters it is.  We have sent invites and got almost everything ready for the party.   We thought about what you give you for your birthday present. We don’t believe in big or expensive toys, they never live up to the expectation. But you have been asking (and taking) my Ipad to watch movies or read books, so we figure, I will just wrapped and tell you from the 22nd that is YOURS!. I only use it at night for reading and web searching, and I am sure I can borrow from you after you fall sleep. I am excited, I Know you will love it.

Ok, sweethearts, both of you… Love, Mommy

So what have we been up to?

Well we have been busy! There are a lot of changes going on, lots of compromising, and also lots of good news and reasons to cheer.  You both have been real troopers tagging along and smiling through it all.

First we sold the house, we packed, we moved.  We are now living with Halmonee and is taking a little bit to get use to, but we are working on it.  The four of us are sharing a room, which can be quite hectic at times, but we are doing fine.  You saw the house empty, and really understood that we were moving out, that we sold the house, you capacity to understand and adapt to new situations is just amazing.

Second, summer camp is over!, and school is around the corner. With that said, on your last week you caught a cold and passed the cold to Andrew who passed to me!, so chain reaction at its best. We are doing better though, which is good after a week with a coughing concert in the bedroom.

Third, grandma is coming tomorrow!, Andrew surgery is on Monday and Grandma is coming to help us deal with all the care needed after his surgery and of course to see you.  I am excited about Grandma been here, I miss her greatly!  We are worried about Andrew’s upcoming surgery, but keeping calm and hoping everything will just be ok.  He’s been through some hard times last week with the infection and brakes my heart to see him going through a surgery next week. But once is done, is done and there is nothing more to worry about.

Love you so much

Packing up!

Yes, the house in which you and your brother were born... well its sold.
We are now in the process of packing and moving out of the house and moving to Halmony house were we will live temporary for a few months until we are ready to move to Houston (The Woodlands).

Your father and me are worried, stressed out, planning and over planning the best and most effective, most economical, less traumatic way to transition from New Orleans to The Woodlands. Believe me it will not be effective, it will cost tons of money and we will end up traumatized, but at the end we will be also Happy and together so we will be just fine.

You know what is happening, we have been keeping you in the loop, you know the house was sold, you know we are moving out, you know we will live with Halmony and that eventually we will move to Houston (a very long drive, as you say), you been a trooper, taking it all in as the big boy you are and with the reasoning of a smart person.

Your brother is clueless, lol, but he is growing up. He has teeth (2 in the bottom), he is beginning to crawl, he knows you and wants to follow you, play with you, be with you.  Both of you are taking showers together now, which is the cutest thing for your dad and me to see both of you playing and splashing in the tub, laughing. We have pictures and are adorable.

Life will always bring you opportunities to take new goals, make changes, take another direction or approach, you just need to believe that is with the main purpose of improving your life and those around you. Don't be afraid to take the plunge. I hope what your dad and me are doing today with our decision of moving, inspires you and you brother tomorrow to seek what is best for you and your family. Change is good when you can see the opportunity for improvement.

Tu, me haces feliz, tu, tu hermano, tu padre, mis tres hombres...
Mi vida, mi felicidad...

Antes de que se nos olvide... Before we forget...

What do you want for breakfast?”  Me respondes que pancake or pan o banana. Tu me sonríes y te vas a dormir.

Me derrites. Te quiero.

Before I forget, because, we always forget everything at the end. I want, through this blog for us to remember the following:
Every night before you go to bed, you come to me and say “Good Morning Mommy” we know is bed time, we know you are going to bed, but I still reply to you saying “What do you want for breakfast?” You smile and say pancakes, or bread, or bananas.  I then take you in my hands and hold you tight and say “Sure, I am going to cook it right now”,  you smile at me and go to bed.  Is one of our many ways to make sure that together we can go silly on each other.
Oh, and before you go to bed, you go on top of the chair and with two finger kiss the portrait of your father and me that we have in the living room and wish us a good night. We are right there, next to you, but you still want to kiss the picture. You make my day every day. I love you.

SUMMER CAMP!

Summer Camp is here!  This is your third year in summer camp.  The first two were pretty bad. During the first one you were 2 years old and the camp was a disaster, you got bit by bees, another boy literally scratch your face and you had eye allergy… needles to say, it only lasted three weeks (yes, all of this just happened in three weeks) and Halmonee, demanded for her to take care of you… we did not object.  Second camp was ok, you actually completed it, but we were not thrilled.  The school looked dirty all the time, the teaches looked as if they could care less, nop, you were not going back there and well, yesterday was your first day on your Third Camp and I am pretty sure, we hit a home run this time...

As soon as you walked in you were smiling, you loved to see the bigger kids, then I took you to the class room and by the time I finish talking to the two teachers in the classroom you were already playing with new found toys and most importantly, with friends. You gave me a big kiss goodbye and I felt so incredibly proud of you.

When I picked you up, you were happy, smiling, telling me all about the inflatable jumping thing that the school had outside for you to play with.  Today you are going to the pool and you were soooo excited.

Yes, I am looking into your summer, and it looks like fun.

Love you!!!

Cuando Crezcan... When you grow up

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lately, we have been really busy, looking forward to the moving, there are missing links that we just need to take care of, looking for housing in Houston, looking for schools and day care, planning an trip over there to check the area out for apartments, in the process of packing our stuff since we are in the middle of selling the house (the neighbor wants it) etc. So I call grandma and Camilo and explained them that my upcoming trip to Panama was just no happening, they were sad, but they understood. One hour later, they called, grandma is coming. She could not stay away from you two and so she decided to come.
My only hope is that when you both grow up, you see us the way we see our parents, like an infinite source of support. No matter where you are, what are you doing, with whom, just call and we will be ringing your door bell. My wish today is that tomorrow, you can rest on us, count on us, our commitment with you will never be over.

Love
Mari
